Chris Gayle sizzles in Kerala while enjoying the break from IPL

He also tried his hand at fishing in the backwaters of Kerala.

Chris Gayle has lightened up the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) while featuring for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). He was benched for a couple of matches upfront but then was unleashed by the team against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the Universe Boss started creating fears in the minds of the bowlers. He also owned the Orange Cap for a little while only after playing 3 matches. However, the champion player from Jamaica is currently enjoying in Kerala during the break from IPL games.

KXIP are currently at the third position with 10 points to their name after playing 7 matches. The team looks set to qualify for the playoffs as most of the things have worked for them. While KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have won them the games single-handedly, the bowling attack has also hunted together with their skipper R Ashwin leading from the front. He has been proactive as the captain so far and the decisions taken on the field have worked wonders for the team.

Chris Gayle enjoys whatever he does. While the team enjoying a 7-day break away from the heavy dosage from IPL games, the Universe Boss preferred spending time with his family in Kerala. After setting the stage on fire in the IPL, he has preferred a wet pitch to test his other talents. Gayle is busy fishing in the Kerala backwaters though he has been unlucky in this aspect. He is accompanied by his wife, daughter and mother-in-law at a luxurious hotel.

The official of the hotel confirmed Gayle’s stay to IANS and refused to give any more details which might hamper privacy of the cricketer. “He checked in yesterday (Sunday) and will stay for the next few days. That’s all I can tell you,” he said. According to the reports though, the big-hitting Jamaican went for a joyride on a boat in the backwaters with his family and also attended the yoga classes at the hotel while trying Ayurveda massages of Kerala.

KXIP will play their next match on May 4 against Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gayle will be refreshed to smash the bowlers after such a pleasant holiday outing.
