Chris Gayle, the big Jamaican batsman, seems to be the controversy child. He was recently dragged in to a controversy when he tried to flirt with the lady anchor Mel McLaughlin during the Big Bash League last earlier this season. His remarks were termed as being sexist by many.

Amidst all the brouhaha, the West Indian batsman might well get into another controversy with the sexist remarks he made to a female journalist Charlotte Edwardes during an interview for the Times Magazine. The left-handed batsman claimed to be having a “a very, very big bat, the biggest in the world” and then remarked Edwardes with his comment, “You think you could lift it? You’d need two hands.”

His comments have apparently been tagged as a sexist remark and is being condemned for his words. According to the article published in the Times Magazine, he also made lewd comments against women, which had the audiences puzzled. He quoted,  “Women should have equality and they do have equality. They have more than equality. Women can do what they want. Jamaican women are very vocal. They will let you know what time is it, for sure.”

He recently became a proud father to a baby girl. When asked about the household chores, Chris Gayle said the first person coming home would make the food. Gayle clearly said, “No, that OK. [With a baby] then she doesn’t have to [cook]. We can stop and buy a meal. If she’s working, then the couple share. First person home, cooks.”

However, his comments on women that followed will leave a few feminists bewildered for sure. He said that the women should be ready with the food when their men come back home. “Women should please their man. When he comes home, food is on the table. Serious. You ask your husband what he likes and then you make it,” quoted the fearless batsman.
