Clean chit for Shah Rukh Khan in Wankhede Stadium brawl case
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has finally received a clean chit in the 2012 Wankhede stadium brawl case. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) had imposed a five-year ban on Shah Rukh which it had lifted last year. The Mumbai police investigated the case and its report said that no cognisable offence could be made against SRK.
Shah Rukh who was at the Wankhede Stadium to support his team Kolkata Knight Riders in a match against the home team Mumbai Indians after the end of the match, he was denied an entry into the ground by the security guard and that is when he got into an argument and abused the guard which resulted in the MCA banning his entry from the Stadium for five years.
The petitioner in the case Maru alleged that Shah Rukh had abused the MCA official present during the incident. In their defense, SRK’s lawyer Aditya Pratap said, “Even the MSCPCR had gone through the case and ordered registration of FIR. A clear case under the Juvenile Justice Act is made out when someone uses abusive language before children. The job of the police was to do a fair inquiry and not be under the influence of certain people.”
Commenting on the report filed by the Mumbai Police in September Pratap said, “The matter is currently sub juice, but we will surely file a protest petition against this inquiry report which has just come to us during the next date of hearing in court.”

Giving out his version of how things unfolded that night Khan had said that security guard present at the ground Vikas Dalvi asked him and his kids to leave the ground after they entered it following his team KKR’s victory. SRK admitted in front of the police that had lost his temper since the guard spoke to him in indecent language. But he clarified that he hadn’t misbehaved and said that he got into it only after the children present on the ground, including his daughter, were “manhandled” by the security.
The Mumbai Police after more than 5 years of the incident is of the opinion that Shah Rukh was not drunk on the night and hadn’t resorted to the use of abusive language in front of minors at the Wankhede Stadium in 2012.
