Ace pacer Hasan Ali's cheeky celebration grabbed plenty of attention during Karachi Kings’ 56-run win over Quetta Gladiators in Match No. 8 of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

The incident took place in the 19th over of Quetta’s innings when Hasan bowled a slower delivery to Abrar Ahmed, who attempted a big shot after shuffling across the stumps but missed rthe ball completely, with his leg stump getting uprooted. After picking the wicket, Hasan looked at Abrar and shouted, “Oye!" before breaking into Abrar’s iconic head-nod celebration. However, the pacer walked up to Abrar and shared a hug.

Interestingly, just days earlier in a match against Lahore Qalandars, Abrar had refrained from performing his signature celebration after picking up a wicket. But Hasan did not stop himself from mimicking the celebration after picking the spinner's wicket.

Notably, the 30-year-old's performance with the ball was equally impressive as he finished with figures of 3/27. He also dismissed Hasan Nawaz and Khawaja Nafay early in the innings to put the opposition on the back foot in their 176-run chase. Hasan also made history on the night by becoming the all-time leading wicket-taker in PSL history, surpassing Wahab Riaz. The wicket of Nawaz was his 114th in 83 innings, making him go at the top of the list.

Meanwhile, the game began with the Kings batting first and posting 175/7, thanks to James Vince’s 70 off 47 balls, along with contributions from David Warner (31) and Mohammad Nabi (18). In reply, Quetta’s top order collapsed under pressure. Apart from a fighting 30 off 16 balls from Mohammad Amir, the Gladiators failed to chase down the total and were restricted to 119/9.
