Comilla Victorians sign up four Pakistan players for BPL 5
The team composition for this year includes three Bangladesh national players and seven overseas players.
Comilla Victorians, one of the most popular teams in Bangladesh’s domestic Twenty20 league, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), have announced that the team composition for this year includes three Bangladesh national players and seven overseas players. Among the Bangladeshi players, opener Tamim Iqbal has been roped in as a replacement for ODI captain Mashrafe Mortaza who was the captain of Comilla for two years.
Among the other two Bangladeshi players in the team are two domestic players – Imrul Kayes and Litton Das, both of whom played for the franchise last year too and have been retained. Among seven overseas players, four are Pakistani. Those include Shoaib Malik, who left the Chittagong Vikings to join the Victorians, and Hassan Ali, who emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded Champions Trophy 2017.
Among other two Pakistani players are Fahim Ashraf and Imran Khan Junior. Afghanistan’s Mohammed Nabi, who featured in the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), too has been roped in by the Victorians. The Nafisa Kamal owned franchise has also signed up former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Matthews, who relinquished his captaincy only recently after Zimbabwe drubbed Sri Lanka in an ODI series. New Zealand’s Colin Munro, who has played for Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians and Trinbago Knight Riders among others will also be seen in the team.

As per bdcrictime, ten players have been confirmed by the franchise so far. These are Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Litton Das, Mohammad Nabi, Collin Munro, Angelo Mathews, Shoaib Malik, Hassan Ali, Fahim Ashraf and Imran Khan Junior.
This will be BPL’s fifth edition. The tournament kicks off on November 4 and the champions from last year, Dhaka Dynamites, will host the opening game at the Sher-e-Punjab Stadium. A total of 60 matches will be played, with the final at Dhaka on December 23.
