Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf started his campaign for Yorkshire with a bang and he bowled a beauty to dismiss Tom Lace by trapping him in front of the wickets. Rauf has been known for clocking speeds above 145 Kmph consistently and is an integral part of Pakistan’s bowling set-up at the moment in the white-ball format. He has the ability to bowl outswingers as well which becomes a lot more threatening at a good pace.

In the ongoing game between Gloucestershire and Yorkshire, Rauf was going through a good spell in the middle at the Bristol ground and he bowled a shearing yorker with a lot of pace that shaped enough to hit the pads of Lace. The umpire had no doubts and straightaway raised the finger after an appeal from the Yorkshire side. The previous delivery before Lace’s dismissal saw the back of Ryan Higgins and Rauf backed it up with a sizzling yorker first up to Lace. Rauf finished with 3 for 81 in his 16-over spell and it was an impressive debut for the 28-year-old despite conceding a lot of runs.

‘@HarisRauf14 with a high-class over including a debut Yorkshire wicket and this beauty #OneRose,’ Yorkshire’s official Twitter handle captioned.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire won the toss and chose to bowl earlier and Gloucestershire was dismissed for 227 in the first innings. Australia’s Marcus Harris stole the show with a blazing knock of 136 at the top of the order while the other batters failed to provide many contributions against the Yorkshire bowling. Matthew Fisher was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 19 while Patterson picked up two wickets.

Yorkshire in their first innings with the bat has taken the lead already on the account of Adam Lyth’s half-century and England’s T20I specialist Dawid Malan played a decent knock of 39. Harry Brook smashed 101 runs off 164 balls.
