The ongoing County Championship has turned out to be power-packed so far with India Test specialist Chesteshwar Pujara regaining his lost touch with the bat and Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi making the ball do the talking exceptionally well.
Lately, another interesting thing took place at the County Championships as a hilarious celebration after effecting a crucial runout grabbed the headlines. The player who carried out this form of a celebration was Luke Fletcher who plays for Nottinghamshire.
Nottinghamshire player Luke Fletcher breaks into a hilarious celebration
During an over bowled by season England pacer Stuart Broad, the batters just could not find a way to score a single run as he had bowled five consecutive dot balls. On the final delivery of the over, Mark Stoneman tapped the ball directed on his pads on the leg-side inside the circle and quickly decided to take a risky single and sat off the run.
Nonetheless, the 33-year-old Fletcher was well aware of it and decided to put his body on the line as he pounced on the ball and effected a breathtaking runout to dismiss Joshua De Caires with a direct hit. Fletcher got up and ran in ecstasy while his teammates followed him and hugged him in delight. What really stood out was Stuart Broad’s priceless reaction as the England Test specialist, who was halfway down the wicket, immediately ran towards Fletcher once the batter was run out.
The video of the same was posted by County Championship on its official Twitter handle with a caption that read, “What’s better, the run out or celebration? ”
