CPL 2018: Match 19, Match Prediction- Who will win the match, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots or Guyana Amazon Warriors?
The Patriots are yet to win against the Warriors at Warner Park.
Both St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Guyana Amazon Warriors are standing midway in the points table of the this edition’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL). They have won three out of their five matches and need to win when they face each other in the upcoming encounter in St Kitts. In the meantime, Guyana has been dealt with a body blow as they won’t have Shoaib Malik, their captain.
Moreover, they would be keen to make a strong comeback after losing their last match against Kieron Pollard-led St Lucia Stars. As far as numbers are concerned, the Warriors have the upper hand as they have won all their previous four matches in St Kitts. The Patriots won their last match against the Tridents and would want to replicate their form in the upcoming encounter as well.
Pitch
The track at Warner Park in St Kitts isn’t expected to be a batsman’s paradise and bowlers are likely to have their say. The recent T20I between Windies and Bangladesh ended in a low-scoring affair. Moreover, history at the venue favours the team batting second. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if teams opt to field first after winning the toss.
Team Combination
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots
The Patriots won’t want to tinker with their winning combination from their erstwhile match. Gayle and Evin Lewis are the opening batsmen. The middle-order has the likes of Devon Thomas, Ben Cutting and Tom Cooper. The likes of Mahmudullah and Carlos Brathwaite add depth to the batting and the duo cane also contribute with the leather. Lamichhane and Cottrell need to come to the party as well.
Predicted XI
Chris Gayle (C), Evin Lewis, Brandon King, Devon Thomas (wk), Ben Cutting, Tom Cooper, Anton Devcich, Mahmudullah, Carlos Brathwaite, Sheldon Cottrell, Sandeep Lamichhane
Guyana Amazon Warriors
The Warriors are likely to resort to a few changes. Jason Mohammed may replace Sherfane Rutherford. Chris Green is likely to come in place of Shoaib Malik. Keemo Paul is expected to come in place of Devendra Bishoo, who got a pasting from Pollard the other night. The experienced campaigners in Luke Ronchi and Imran Tahir also need to step up big time.
Predicted XI
Chadwick Walton, Luke Ronchi (C & wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Cameron Delport, Jason Mohammed, Chris Green, Sohail Tanvir, Rayad Emrit, Veerasammy Permaul, Keemo Paul, Imran Tahir
