CPL 2019: Shah Rukh Khan shakes a leg with cheerleaders after TKR beat Tallawahs
The TKR owner Shah Rukh Khan seemed in a jolly mood.
The Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) have started the Caribbean Premier League 2019 on a good note as they won their second match in a row on September 6 against the Jamaica Tallawahs at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad. This gave them four points from two games in the tournament which is in its infancy. Kieron Pollard has been an excellent captain so far deputizing for injured Dwayne Bravo.
The TKR owner Shah Rukh Khan seemed in a jolly mood throughout the match and was seen enjoying the proceedings with his usual energy. He was as involved as ever while supporting his franchise as he does with Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. The hero of the match proved to be Sunil Narine who shined with both the bat and the ball in the match.

Batting first the TKR team put on 191/4 on the board, with Narine slamming 46 off 22 balls, while Tion Webster made 66*. Ramdin (26) and Pollard (33*) provided the perfect ending to their innings. In reply, George Worker (46*) and Andre Russell (44) tried to chase down the target after initial hiccups, as Gayle fell for just 28 runs. But Narine again came to the fore with 2/23, as they were restricted to just 169/6, with Neesham also picking 2/27.
TKR owner Shah Rukh Khan was seen celebrating the amazing win of his franchise on the ground and was seen dancing with the cheerleaders, who were happy to shake a leg or two with the legendary actor. SRK, as he is fondly known, then walked around the ground after the win to thank the supporters who had come to watch the match.

Meanwhile, Man of the Match Sunil Narine praised the young Tion Webster for his amazing innings. “Think Tion did a fantastic job opening. He’s young and has a lot of talent to showcase to the world. Nice to get the license to go out there and give the team a good start. Was a good surface to bowl on earlier. The newer ball got something but towards the end, it was better to bat,” said Narine during the post-match presentation ceremony.
