Shamar Joseph

Shamar Joseph has been a sensation in the last month or so. Making his debut in the Test series against Australia, the 24-year-old dismissed Steve Smith in the very first ball of his career at Adelaide Oval. In his very first innings in Tests, Joseph claimed a 5-wicket haul. But it was his performance in the second innings for which he has been remembered. At the Gabba in the pink ball D/N Test, he was phenomenal.

Having to defend 215, Joseph claimed seven wickets and helped West Indies to beat Australia by just eight runs. Despite suffering from a toe injury, Shamar gave his everything for the men in maroon. It was West Indies’ first Test win against Australia since 1997. Joseph won the Player of the Series award. As Mark Wood opted out of the IPL 2024, Shamar Joseph came in as his replacement.
