Asia Cup 2022 concluded last night with Sri Lanka being crowned as the deserved champions. The six-team tournament witnessed some games going down to the wire with few notable performances. The pitches were great for batting throughout and it proved to be a runfest to say the least.

Every team performed well with the bat at different phases in the tournament while Sri Lanka was the most consistent team. Here is the teamwise ratings of all the six participating nations based on their batting performances in the tournament.

It was much of a learning experience for Hong Kong in this tournament as it was one of the rare occasions where they got to play full member nations in a T20 International. They were placed in a tough group with India and Pakistan.

In their first match against India, they were chasing a mammoth total of 192. They did show some fight with key batters like Babar Hayat and Kinchit Shah chipping with some runs but it proved to be a herculian task as they ended up losing by 40 runs.

Their second match against Pakistan was a disastrous one and they ended up being bundled out for a paltry 38 runs. All in all, it was a pretty average batting performance from their side and they would hope to learn from this experience.

Bangladesh have performed poorly in T20Is for some time now and this Asia Cup proved to be no different. They were placed in Group B with Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.&nbsp;

They made a very poor start to their campaign batting first at Sharjah but only managed 127 runs going onto lose the match comfortably against the spirited Afghanistan outfit.

Their second game was much better and once again they were batting first. With cameos from Mehidy, Afif and Mahmudullah they managed to score 183/7 in their 20 overs but even that didn&rsquo;t prove enough on a flat batting wicket in Dubai. Bangladesh had a tournament to forget and will look to bounce back stronger next time.

Afghanistan made a scintillating start to their Asia Cup campaign as was expected. All their power hitters and quality spinners sprung into action in the group phases where they faced Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Their first group game was all about their bowling and they chased 106 comfortably to defeat Sri Lanka. Even in their second match, it was the bowlers who won it for them and they chased a low total comfortably to top their group.

Super4 stage was an uphill task for them against strong teams like Pakistan, Sri lanka and India. They batted well against Sri Lanka again but lost the game in the end. However, they had very poor batting performances towards the end of the league stages as they were bundled for 129 and 111 against Pakistan and India losing both games comfortably. Afghanistan would expect more consistency from their batting side in the future.

Pakistan came into this Asia Cup high on confidence after their good performance in the T20 world cup last year. Their batting has been solid nowadays with Babar and Rizwan being their lynchpins. Babar wasn&rsquo;t at his best this tournament though and the team visibly struggled to maintain the consistency in performances.

Their opening game against India was a much awaited encounter between two strong batting sides. Pakistan did not bat well and managed only 147 in their 20 overs.&nbsp;In the next group game against Hong Kong, they played exceedingly well although against an associate nation.

Super4s was again a topsy turvy ride for them as they chased a 181-run total against India but struggled to chase 130 in the very next game against Afghanistan. They won both games and made it to the finals where they faced Sri lanka. Much similar to their performance in the last group game, Pakistan failed to bat well against the Sri lankan spinners and lost the finals to end an average batting campaign for them as per their standards.

It was a brilliant effort from Sri Lanka to win the Asia Cup for the sixth time.
