India vs England 2025: 3 players who can make a big impact for England in 3rd T20I against India
England are trailing India after the two T20Is played in Kolkata and Chennai.
The unrelenting manner in which Team India (IND) dominated the visitors in the series opener in Kolkata was not what a lot of people would have foreseen ahead of the commencement of the T20I series. Opting to bowl first, India restricted their opponents to a meagre 132, before tracking down the score without breaking a sweat with seven wickets and 43 deliveries in the bank. Despite the hosts getting challenged in both aspects on the field in the second game in Chennai, they clinched a narrow two-wicket victory to double their lead.
As for England (ENG), they would desperately want to get back to winning ways, with the third T20I of the five-match rubber at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot laying forth the perfect platform to initiate their resurgence. With the upcoming fixture being a make-or-break contest as far as staying alive in the series is concerned, it will be a fascinating watch with regard to how England go about their gameplay and tactics during the game.
Let us take a look at three players from the England team who can make a huge impact in the third T20I:
3. Adil Rashid
Despite being given the treatment in the first game, Adil Rashid managed to pick up a wicket. The wily leg-spinner came back strongly in the subsequent fixture to end up with figures of 1/14 in his allotted four-over quota. In addition to not giving any extras, he conceded only one boundary in what was an impressive performance by him.
As per the statistics in all domestic and international 20-over games played in Rajkot since the start of 2024, spinners have been almost at par with pacers in terms of wickets taken (82 vs 84). However, when it comes to the economy rate, they have been significantly better than the fast bowlers (7.18 vs 8.46). Keeping the aforementioned numbers in mind, a lot would be on the shoulders of Rashid. His spell is expected to have a big impact on the game. Securing a few wickets would definitely not hurt his side's cause.
