IPL 2023: Match 34, Delhi Capitals (DC) Predicted Playing XI vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

The 34th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will feature a thrilling clash between the David Warner-led Delhi Capitals (DC) and the 2016 season champions Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH)at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday, April 24.

Delhi are coming into the game on the back of a win against the Nitish Rana-led Kolkata Knight Riders, which has been their only win of the season so far. It will be interesting to see what line-up the skipper could field in Delhi’s next assignment when they take on Hyderabad.

Openers: David Warner (c), Prithvi Shaw

Skipper David Warner has been in fabulous form in the IPL 2023 so far; in Delhi’s last game, the ace Australian batter amassed 57 runs off 41 deliveries. With 285 runs in six games, Delhi would depend on the 36-year-old’s services and hope that he could propel the side to its second win of the season. 

Indian batter Prithvi Shaw has been putting in poor performances in the ongoing T20 extravaganza. With just 47 runs in six games so far, Shaw’s place in the line-up could be threatened. However, after winning their previous game, the side could back the 23-year-old once again and hope for an improved performance in the forthcoming matches.

Middle Order: Manish Pandey, Mitchell Marsh, Phil Salt (wk)

Manish Pandey has been another one of the consistent performers for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023. With 97 runs in four games, and a score of 21 runs in 23 balls in the last match, the Indian batter would look for a similar showing against Hyderabad and amass some important runs for the side in the upcoming game.

After coming into the IPL on the back of sensational form for Australia, Mitchell Marsh has been unable to display the same form in the ongoing competition. He has just managed to score six runs in four games. Delhi would be expected to back him in the upcoming games, as he is quite capable of taking wickets as well. 

Phil Salt would be expected to be in the line-up as well. The English keeper batter played his first game of the IPL 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders. However, he failed to make an impact as he was dismissed for just five runs. Delhi would hope for an improved performance from him against Hyderabad.

All-rounders: Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel

With 48 runs and one wicket in four IPL games so far, Lalit Yadav would also be keen on improving upon his recent performances. In Delhi’s previous game, Yadav finished unbeaten on four runs and did not get a chance to feature with the ball. His performance with the bat down the order could prove crucial for Delhi.

Axar Patel has been one of the best players for Delhi Capitals this season. The star Indian all-rounder scored 19* runs off 22 balls and was sensational with the ball in the last game. Axar took two wickets and conceded just 13 runs in the three overs he bowled. Delhi would hope for similar showings from him if they are looking to register their second win of the IPL 2023. 

Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Mukesh Kumar, Ishant Sharma

Delhi Capitals made significant changes to their bowling line-up in their previous game. However, Kuldeep Yadav would be expected to feature in the line-up against Hyderabad as well. The Indian spinner was sensational for his side in the previous game, taking two wickets and conceding just 15 runs in the three overs he bowled.

On the other hand, Anrich Nortje put in an amazing effort in his previous assignment as well. Taking two wickets and conceding just 20 runs in four overs. Delhi’s bowling attack could be key for them in the forthcoming games and Nortje will be an important part of their bowling line-up. He would look to take enough wickets so that he could feature among the top contenders in the race to the IPL 2023 Purple Cap.

With five wickets in five IPL matches, Mukesh Kumar continues to make an impact for Delhi whenever he is given a chance in the squad, and the David Warner-led side will look for a similar showing from him in the forthcoming matches.

Veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma played his first game of the IPL 2023 against KKR. In Delhi’s previous game, he put in a fabulous performance, conceding just 19 runs and taking two wickets in four overs. He would hope that he can further build on his spell in the next few games, given that he is included in the side.
