Rajasthan Royals will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in a must-win game at the Eden Gardens.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) IPL 2023 campaign has hit a roadblock as the team succumbed to their third successive loss and a fifth loss in the last six matches after a deflating defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last outing. Last year's losing finalists are in desperate need of two points, with their campaign hanging by a thread.

Much of the blame for their defeat has been directed at the bowlers, who failed to defend 40+ runs in the final two overs of the match. Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson's return to form will please the Rajasthan-based franchise, who have been dragged into a dogfight for a place in the playoff in the 16th edition of the tournament.
They will be hoping for a victory when they take on a spirited Kolkata Knight Riders side, who are also battling for a place in the knockout stages of this year's edition.
Here's Rajasthan Royals’ predicted XI against Kolkata Knight Riders:
Openers: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler
Yaishasvi Jaiswal continued his ballistic form at the top of the order against Sunrisers Hyderabad in his previous outing as he ensured a brisk powerplay for his side with a rollicking cameo of 35 runs in just 18 deliveries. He has become an integral part of Rajasthan's plans this year and will hope to continue his form against KKR.
Influential English opener Jos Buttler made a sensational return to form after compiling a glittering innings of 95 runs off just 59 deliveries. Although he fell short of a memorable century, he will take confidence from his last outing as he took time in the initial stages of his innings but went into overdrive in the latter stages.
Middle Order: Sanju Samson (c & wk), Joe Root, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel
Apart from Buttler, Rajsthan's under-fire skipper Sanju Samson also rediscovered his prime touch with the bat after playing a swashbuckling innings against Aiden Markram's side. He blitzed his way to 66 runs off just 38 deliveries in a sizzling partnership with Buttler to take his side to a daunting total of 214 runs in their 20 overs.
Former England skipper Joe Root was finally handed his debut cap in IPL 2023 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, the batting ace did not get an opportunity to showcase his talents with the bat in the first innings and was not able to contribute to his team's performance in his first outing.
Explosive Carribean batter Shimron Hetmyer came out to bat only in the penultimate over of the first innings after Bhuvneshwar Kumar put an end to Buttler and Samson's mammoth stand for the second wicket. He arrived at the crease a bit too late to make an impact, scoring seven runs in five deliveries. Dhruv Jurel was another batter from the Rajasthan camp who did not get the opportunity to bat in the game against SRH.
Bowlers: Ravi Ashwin, Trent Boult, Kuldeep Sen, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sandeep Sharma
Veteran Indian offie Ravichandran Ashwin wasn't at his usual best in his last outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad as he conceded 35 runs in his four-over spell. However, he did land a big blow to Sunrisers' hopes after dismissing a dangerous-looking Abhishek Sharma in the 13th over. He was subbed off in the latter stages of the match in favour of West Indian pacer Obed McCoy.
Trent Boult was a surprise omission from Rajasthan Royals' line-up in their last outing. His absence was felt by the franchise, especially in the powerplay as SRH openers got off to a flying start during the field restrictions. He is likely to return to the starting eleven for their all-important clash against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Rajasthan's star Indian leggie Yuzvendra Chahal had a phenomenal outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chahal returned with spectacular figures of 4/29 in his four overs and also became the joint-leading wicket-taker in the competition's history during the high-scoring affair in Jaipur.
Veteran Indian pacer Sandeep Sharma won't be looking back fondly at his last outing against SRH, as it was his error on the final delivery which cost the home side a much-needed victory. He committed the cardinal sin of overstepping on the final delivery with the resulting free-hit dispatched for a six by Abdul Samad to seal a famous victory for the Orange Army.
