3. Glenn Phillips (SRH)

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a flurry of top-class cricketers in their ranks for the 2024 season. While they decided to fill the four overseas slots with Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram and captain Pat Cummins, a quality all-rounder like Glenn Phillips had to warm the bench throughout the season.

Despite Markram's struggle to get going, the SRH management did not let Phillips play a single game. Batting in the middle-order, the New Zealand cricketer is known for his fierce hitting. He is also a handy off-spin bowler and a gun outfielder.

2. Kyle Mayers (LSG)

Kyle Mayers made his IPL debut in 2023 with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and he was a beast in his maiden appearance. In 13 matches, the Caribbean power-hitter amassed 379 runs at a healthy strike rate of 144.10. He has also slammed four half-centuries, with the highest score being 73.

The Windies opener had often provided the team a bright start, with 22 maximums and 38 fours. Even though his aggressive cricketing inspired the LSG management to retain him, Mayers did not even get a chance to play in the 2024 IPL. Despite Quinton de Kock struggling to find runs throughout the tournament, the Caribbean cricketer was overlooked by the LSG management.

1. Kane Williamson (GT)

It is quite surprising that a player like Kane Williamson could not find a place in the XI. The veteran cricketer played just two matches this season for Gujarat Titans (GT), in which he scored just 27 runs. Williamson joined GT ahead of the 2023 season after a good stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

However, the New Zealand captain could only play one match in the 16th edition as he was ruled out with an injury in the very first match of the tournament. Although his absence was considered a major setback, GT did not count on his experience and talent for the 2024 season. Notably, the 2022 champions had their worst outing in their history, finishing eighth in the points table.
