In the 64th game of the Indian Premier League 2024, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) would be hosting the Delhi Capitals (DC) in a crucial contest that would surely shape up the playoff race even more. Both the teams are currently alive in the play-offs race but a loss would surely mean curtains for their Indian Premier League campaign. A win might give them a great chance to progress but it might come down to which team will have the higher NRR.

Ahead of the upcoming game against Delhi Capitals, let's take a look at how the Lucknow Super Giants would line up today

A lot of criticism has been pondered towards KL Rahul after the defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad and his approach in batting during the recent matches. However, he is known to make the best comebacks and everyone would be hoping he can deliver a fine innings against the Delhi Capitals.

Another opener who is struggling for form is Quinton de Kock. The South African opener has not been able to produce a significant performance for the franchise so far but has still been retained as the partner to KL Rahul up top.

It is about time, the performances of Ayush Badoni get the recognition they deserve. From time to time, the batter has proven to be the saviour for the batting this season and has displayed his class with the bat. There is a chance that he might be promoted for the final few matches of the season and might even be retained ahead of the mega auction.

The current vice-captain of the team, Nicholas Pooran has been having a hit or a miss campaign. Either he goes early and does not contribute at all or he settles in and can change the tide of the match without much doing. He is surely an integral part of the Lucknow Super Giants franchise and would be looking to a good end to the campaign.

Lucknow Super Giants have not been able to fix their batting order and it often causes some trouble. Deepak Hooda is one of the batters whose form has not been great because of his inconsistent batting position. He would also be looking to have a good end with the bat ahead of the final matches of the season.

All-rounders: Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Krishnappa Gowtham

Arguably, the best player for the Lucknow Super Giants has been Marcus Stoinis. With the bat, he has surely been the player with the most runs and always looks to pile on the runs for his side. The all-rounder has been contributing well with the ball as well which has been beneficial for the team.

The former vice-captain of the team, Krunal Pandya has been a great player for the side this season. His performances have surely gone under the radar and has performed for the franchise whenever required.

Krishnappa Gowtham started his first game of the season during the humiliating loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He did not have a great game as he did not get to bat and only bowled two overs in which he was smashed all over the park by the opposition openers

Bowlers: Ravi Bishnoi, Naveen-ul-Haq, Yash Thakur

The second highest-ranked T20 bowler for Team India Ravi Bishnoi has not had the best of campaigns so far in the Indian Premier League. On some occasions, he has scalped wickets for his side, but more often than not, the leg-spinner has been leaking runs which can be costly.

One of the consistent bowlers for the team this season has been Naveen-ul-Haq. But he also had no answers during the last game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Overall, he has been the go to bowler for the team and is called upon to get breakthroughs.

During the last game, Yash Thakur came back into the line-up for the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad as Mohsin Khan had a niggle. It is expected that Thakur will start for the second game running but would be hoping for a much better performance than last time.
