Royal Challengers Bengaluru will take on the Delhi Capitals in what is a must-win clash for both the teams in the Indian Premier League 2024 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Delhi Capitals sit fifth on the points table and a win will surely boost their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. Meanwhile, the hosts come into the game as one of the most in-form teams of the tournament as they have picked four wins from last four games. A win will increase their chances of qualification but a loss will end their campaign.

Prior to this mouthwatering contest at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium, here is a look at the probable playing XI of Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Here is the strongest predicted playing XI of RCB for the 62nd match of the IPL 2024 against DC:

Openers: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (c)

It has been yet another great season for Virat Kohli as he has been piling up the runs for his side. He is currently leading the race to win the Orange Cap and his form is a great sign for both Royal Challengers Bengaluru and India. The franchise would be hoping for yet another great innings from the modern batting maestro.

Meanwhile. it has not been an ideal campaign according to the high expectations that Faf du Plessis had set from his previous campaigns. However, the RCB skipper has performed when required the most for his side and is still one of the best white-ball openers of the game.

Middle Order: Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Mahipal Lomror

The one player who has certainly picked up his form in recent matches is Rajat Patidar. After a poor Test series against England and a dismal start to the 2024 IPL, many had written him off. But the right-handed batter is flourishing and playing with his preferred attacking intent. His cameos have given the side a boost in the batting and he would want to continue the same way.

In a T20 World Cup year, Dinesh Karthik plays better than anyone in the world and the veteran shows everyone why he has been part of the tournament for the past 17 years. His exploits with the bat this season have been exemplary and the franchise would be hoping that he can continue his stellar form.

Mahipal Lomror has got his fair share of chances with the bat but has not been able to make significant contributions. He was drafted into the line-up in place of Anuj Rawat but the batter has not gotten enough time at the crease to make a meaningful contribution for the franchise. The team might be hoping that their selection comes good when the batter gets some good amount of time out in the middle.

All-rounders: Will Jacks, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green

Bringing Will Jacks into the playing XI turned out to be a masterstroke for RCB as the batting all-rounder has had a great tournament. His hundred against the Gujarat Titans was a testament to his batting ability. He hascemented his place in the starting XI and would be hoping for a good last few games for the franchise/.

Glenn Maxwell is having a terrible campaign and it would be fair to say that the Australian’s best performance for the team this season has come with the ball instead of the bat. He would be looking to make some contribution to help his side qualify for the playoffs.

The acquisition of Cameron Green has brought much-needed balance to the side as the all-rounder has been able to get in meaningful contributions with both bat and ball. He would be looking to have another great game tomorrow against the Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.

Bowlers: Karn Sharma, Yash Dayal, Mohammed Siraj

The selection of Karn Sharma was debated but the leg-spinner has shut his critics with an impressive spell against the Punjab Kings in Dharamshala on Thursday. He would be looking to have another great game and hoping to contribute more for his side in the next encounter.

After a rather timid start to the season, Mohammed Siraj has picked up the form that was desired of him as the pacer has been bowling well. His economy has come into question but his performances have certainly improved of late which is a great sign for the franchise.

The left-arm pacer Yash Dayal has been one of the more consistent bowlers for the franchise. If there is help from the wicket for the pacers, he can be a menace for the batters as he will trouble them with a number of variations in his skill set.
