Game 37 of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 will feature a clash between India (IND) and South Africa (SA) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, November 5. Both sides have been in fantastic form in the tournament. Having played seven games in the tournament so far, South Africa have only lost one game, and taking on an unbeaten Indian team, the Proteas will look to put in every ounce of their being in the game.

On the back of good form, it could be interesting to see how South Africa fields its lineup against the in-form Indian team.

South Africa’s true strength is in their batting attack; wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock will be opening the innings for the Proteas once again. Needless to say, De Kock will be expected to put in yet another good showing. With 545 runs in seven games, the batter is the highest run-getter of the tournament, and having scored multiple centuries so far, the Indian team will hunt for his wicket early on.

Skipper Temba Bavuma will look to lead from the front. With 111 runs in five games, Bavuma has been unable to go big as of yet, and it could be interesting to see if that changes against India.

Middle order: Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen

South Africa’s middle order is where the team will look to shine. Rassie van der Dussen will look to act like an anchor for the side. With a brilliant knock of 133 runs in his previous game, Der Dussen could be another player that the Indian team will be wary of. The entire middle order has been in good form, and the 34-year-old will look to continue his form.

Star batter Aiden Markram needs no introduction. Having led the side on a few occasions in the absence of the regular skipper, Markram has done a good job with the bat. He did not get to feature much in the side’s previous game against New Zealand, but he would be raring to go against the hosts.

David Miller could be another player possessing the skills of a power hitter; if given enough time on the crease, Miller could become a serious problem for Team India. With a knock of 53 runs in his previous game against the Black Caps, Miller will look to continue his form as well.

Heinrich Klassen has been in excellent form for South Africa as well. Staying unbeaten on 15 runs in his previous game against New Zealand, and on the back of some good performances, Klassen could cause serious problems for the Men in Blue as well.

Star all-rounder Marco Jansen will be expected to continue his brilliant run of form in South Africa’s next game against India. Apart from his prowess with the bat, Jansen has especially been in form with the ball. With 22 wickets in his last 10 games, Jansen will look to perform once more.

Bowlers: Gerald Coetzee, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi

The bowling lineup of the Proteas will consist of the likes of Gerald Coetzee. Taking two wickets in his previous game against New Zealand, Coetzee has been in good form whenever he has gotten the chance in a game, and with a good performance in his last game, Coetzee could get the nod against India as well.

Star spinner Keshav Maharaj could be one of the best performers for South Africa in game 37 of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Taking 18 wickets in his last 10 matches, Maharaj has been influential for the Proteas, and he will look to continue his form in the upcoming clash as well.

Ace pacer Kagiso Rabada would be another player who will look to make a big impact for his side in the upcoming clash. With one wicket against New Zealand in his previous game, Rabada was quite economical, and he will be keen on putting in another good showing against India.

Lungi Ngidi will look to fire on all cylinders as well. After going wicketless in his previous game against the Black Caps, Ngidi would be disappointed. However, the side will be keen on seeing how he bounces back.
