T20 World Cup 2022: Match 40 - Predicted Netherlands Playing XI vs South Africa
The Netherlands will lock horns with South Africa in the 40th match of the marquee tournament on November 6.
Middle-order - Tom Cooper, Colin Ackermann, Scott Edwards (c & wk)
Tom Cooper has been a run-bank for the Netherlands amassing 624 runs in 32 T20Is at a strike rate of 127.34. However, he has been nowhere close to his best in the ongoing T20 carnival. The 35-year-old has only managed 72 runs in seven games at a low strike rate of 85.71.
Coming to Colin Ackermann, the 31-year-old has had a decent campaign thus far. He has featured in seven games and scored 124 runs at a strike rate of 100.81. It includes a blistering knock of 62 runs off 48 deliveries against Bangladesh.
Last but not the least, the middle order consists of the Netherlands skipper Edwards. The 26-year-old has done a superb job in the T20I landscape scoring 602 runs in 50 matches at a strike rate of 120.39. However, the ace batter has failed to lead the way with the bat in the ongoing T20 spectacle. He has played seven games in the ongoing T20 World Cup and managed just 79 runs at a strike rate of 81.44.
The middle order has failed to fire in unison so far in the tournament. The batters would need to get their act together if they want to put South Africa under the pump.
