3. Bowling combination

India have gone with more or less the same template over the last month or so, as far as the playing XI is concerned. However, with pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel back from injuries, and with ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja being out injured, it seems that India have still not settled on a fixed bowling combination.

It goes without saying that whenever Bumrah is available, he must get into the playing XI straight away. He is the bowling spearhead and one of the best in business. Judging by the template the team has gone with, it is clear that Bhuvneshwar Kumar is India’s trusted new ball bowler. And same can be said about Yuzvendra Chahal for the specialist spinner’s role.

It is a given that all-rounders Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya will also chip in with a few overs. The conundrum for the team is with the third seamer’s role, to choose between Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh. And India might look to settle that in the five games that they have in hand going into the World Cup.
