Issy Wong was one of the best performers in the WPL 2023. The fact that Shabnim was picked in the auction led to MI starting with her over Wong. Throughout the season, Wong was underutilized by MI. The English player did well in the limited chances she got in the WPL 2024. In two matches in the WPL 2024, she claimed three wickets at a bowling average of 16.66, a bowling SR of 12.00, and an economy rate of 8.33.

In the WPL 2023, she was brilliant as a bowler. The right-arm pacer played ten matches and claimed 15 wickets at a bowling average of 14.00, at a bowling SR of 13.00, at an economy rate of 6.46. She was the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. However, the defending champions opted to play the South African experienced player, Ismail, who was brilliant with the new ball.
