4. Rajasthan Royals lift inaugural IPL, 2008

Rajasthan Royals (RR) made history by winning the inaugural IPL in 2008 and became the original champions. It was the first edition, and no one knew what to expect from this league. No one could imagine how big this league will turn out to be in the coming years. Many big players were signed ahead of the mega auction, and one of them was the legendary spinner Shane Warne who was picked up by the franchise, and became 'The First Royal'.

Warne led a relatively young side, and his team defied all odds to win the title. The final was held on June 1, 2008, at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai between CSK and RR. Chennai Super Kings posted 163/5, batting first, and RR chased down the target, scoring 164/7, securing a 3-wicket victory with Sohail Tanvir hitting the winning runs off the final ball.
