1. Sanath Jayasuriya - 38 Years 8 Months 5 Days
Sri Lanka has produced many match-winners but there have been quite a few of the calibre of Sanath Jayasuriya. He was a marauder with the bat and destroyed bowling attacks at will. Also, the Matara-born was a canny customer with the ball and provided his side with timely breakthroughs.
Jayasuriya amassed an insane tally of 13430 runs in 445 ODIs at a strike rate of 91.20 and bagged 323 wickets at an economy of 4.78. When it came to the longest format of the game, the former Sri Lankan all-rounder piled on 6973 runs in 110 games and picked up 98 scalps in those outings.
In the first edition of the cash-rich league, the then 38 years old Jayasuriya knocked the wind out of bowling attacks that came his way and accumulated 518 runs in 14 matches at a stunning strike rate of 167.63. Further, when Mumbai Indians clashed against Chennai Super Kings In the 36th match of IPL 2008, Sanath was at his best and hammered the CSK bowlers all across the park. He brought up his first IPL ton in 45 balls and ended up plundering 114* runs off 48 deliveries in the game.
