In India’s fourth U-19 World Cup title triumph, Shubman Gill played an instrumental role with his bat. He racked up 372 runs in five innings of six matches at a breathtaking strike rate of 112.38 and ended up as the second-leading run-getter in the tournament.

Gill played his maiden international game against Australia at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). After Dravid’s appointment as a coach, the young batter smashed a double ton against New Zealand in a One-Day International (ODI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in January 2023.
