5 records held by Bangladesh cricketers that are nearly impossible to break
Here are some astonishing feats achieved by the Bangladesh cricketers, which don’t seem to be broken easily by any player.
2. Youngest player to hit a century on Test debut
Mohammad Ashraful set his foot on the international stage in an ODI fixture against Zimbabwe in April 2001 and could contribute only nine runs. However, later in the year, Ashraful slammed 114 off 212 in his maiden Test against Sri Lanka. The knock turned out to be historic, as he became the youngest player (17 years and 61 days) to score a century on Test debut.
Ashraful broke Mushtaq Mohammad’s record, who scored 101 against India in 1960 at the age of 17 years and 78 days. The legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar is third on the list as he slammed his maiden century against England in June 1990 at the age of 17 years and 107 days.
Talking about his Test career, Ashraful amassed 2737 runs at an average of 24, with eight fifties and six centuries. He last featured for Bangladesh in May 2013 in a 50-over fixture against Zimbabwe.
