5 records made during India vs Bangladesh matches in history
Amid the exhilarating cricket that India and Bangladesh have played, fans have witnessed many players etch their names in history books.
4. Stuart Binny bags the best figures by an Indian in ODIs
India locked horns with Bangladesh in the second game of the three-match ODI series in June 2014 in Mirpur. After being put to bat, Indian batters were nowhere close to their best and got bundled for just 105 runs. Taskin Ahmed was the wrecker-in-chief for the hosts with his superb five-wicket haul.
It needed an inspired bowling effort from India to make a match out of it and Stuart Binny rose to the occasion. He completely dismantled the opposition's batting line-up picking up an incredible six-wicket haul to send the Bangla Tigers packing for 58. Thus, Suresh Raina & co. won the match by 43 runs.
Binny ended the match with mind-boggling figures of 4.4-2-4-6 and with such a stunning bowling display, the Bangalore-born surpassed Anil Kumble to register India’s best figures in ODI history.
Way back in November 1993, when India faced the West Indies at the final of the Hero Cup, Kumble spun a web around the opposition and picked up six wickets for just 12 runs. The leg-spinner held the best figures record for over twenty years before Binny broke it.
