Amid the exhilarating cricket that India and Bangladesh have played, fans have witnessed many players etch their names in history books.
3. Ravichandran Ashwin becomes the fastest bowler to take 250 Test wickets
Ravichandran Ashwin has been a giant of a player in the longest format of the game. The veteran spinner has been the main strike force for the team in the Indian subcontinent conditions for over a decade and dismantled top-drawer bowling attacks for fun.
When the Men in Blue locked horns with Bangladesh for a one-off Test in February 2017 in Hyderabad, the ace spinner weaved his magic with the ball and achieved a historic feat while doing so.
Ashwin entered the match with 248 Test wickets to his name and as he took the prized wickets of Shakib-Al-Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim in Bangladesh’s first innings, he created history by becoming the fastest bowler to take 250 Test wickets. The veteran spinner achieved the feat in 45 games and surpassed Dennis Lillee's record of 48 Tests.
Ashwin, who picked up two wickets in the first innings, bagged a four-wicket haul in the second to help Virat Kohli & co. defeat the Bangla Tigers by 208 runs.
