Punjab Kings got the better of Royal Challengers Bengaluru by five wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium after a rain delay shortened the match to a 14-overs-a-side contest.
Arshdeep Singh struck early, dismissing Phil Salt (4 off 4) and Virat Kohli (1 off 3) in quick succession. RCB collapsed to 47/7 by the completion of the 10th over, with Yuzvendra Chahal (2/11) and Marco Jansen (2/10) wreaking havoc. A late blitz by Tim David, including a 21-run final over, lifted RCB to 95/9.
In reply, PBKS lost early wickets but regained momentum through Nehal Wadhera’s unbeaten 33 off 19 deliveries. Despite a few breakthroughs via Josh Hazlewood (3/14 in three overs), RCB couldn’t defend their total. Marcus Stoinis sealed the win with a maximum. This marked PBKS’s fifth win in seven games.

1. Arshdeep Singh lands early blows; dismisses Phil Salt, Virat Kohli
Salt and Kohli were dismissed in the first and third overs of the game, as Arshdeep breathed fire in his first couple of overs. Trying to swing leg side, a top-edge by Salt was wonderfully pouched by Josh Inglis. Kohli's attempt to go downtown ended up in a slice towards mid-on, where Jansen tracked back to snap an excellent catch.
2. Tim David powers RCB to face-saving finish
It was courtesy David's explosive knock that RCB could finish on 95 after their allotted 14-over quota. A fearless approach by the lower middle-order batter provided some impetus to a floundering innings. The three maximums off Brar in the final over of the innings made for the cherry on the top.
3. Nehal Wadhera swings momentum with match-defining cameo
On a tricky batting deck which was acting double-paced at times, the left-handed Wadhera provided a counter-attacking punch to completely negate any sort of comeback RCB and the franchise's supporters were hoping for. His decisive knock entailed three fours and as many sixes.
