Former India skipper MS Dhoni will always be recognised for his contributions to Indian cricket and for arguably being the most successful captain in India's history. The Ranchi-born has notched up many records during his stint as a wicketkeeper batter making his journey very special. Starting in 2004, young Dhoni instantly created an impression, and his growth was unbelievable as he eventually became one of the most important cogs in India's wheel. Dhoni has been able to immortalise his name in the history books and not many of his records can be broken by another individual. Pakistan’s wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan has been at the top of his game for the last couple of years. Moreover, the player is currently the no.1 batter in the ICC Men's T20I Batting Rankings. The former wicketkeeper batsman achieved the feat of scoring 10,000+ runs in the ODI format of the game. A feat that would be difficult for Rizwan to achieve. Though Rizwan is highly reliable in the T20 format of the game but in ODI cricket, the right-handed batter has only scored 1065 in his 49 outings for Pakistan. Dhoni retired with an average of more than 50 (50.57) in ODIs and it is the second-best after Virat Kohli among the players who have scored 10,000 runs or more. On the other hand, Rizwan has a long way to go to reach 10,000 runs and for that the player will need to maintain consistency and score big on numerous occasions. 4. Most number of stumpings in ODIs Dhoni was known for his lightning fast hands behind the wickets. He holds the record of most stumpings ever by a wicketkeeper in ODIs - 123. “Swiftness” is the term that can be associated with him as he has proved the same time and again. The second wicketkeeper on the list is Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara with 99 stumpings to his name. On the other hand, Rizwan is also a good wicketkeeper in the making but lacks the kind of swiftness which came naturally to the former India captain. Rizwan needs to work more on his wicketkeeping skills to get better at the craft. 3. Six T20 titles in domestic circuit Speaking of the Indian Premier League (IPL), along with someone like Rohit Sharma, who has been highly successful for Mumbai Indians as captain the only other name that comes to mind is that of MS Dhoni who has dominated the lucrative league over the years. Dhoni has been a mastermind on the field, and no one reads the game better than him. Moreover, the main reason behind Chennai Super Kings being arguably the best domestic side in the world is Dhoni's brilliance as a leader. The Super Kings wicketkeeper captain has won as many as six titles with the side and it includes four IPL titles and two Champions League titles. On the contrary, Rizwan has led Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League and has only one title to his name. However, it seems highly unlikely that Rizwan will be able to win five or more titles as a skipper in domestic tournaments. 2. Highest individual score by a wicketkeeper in ODIs Despite playing predominantly in the lower middle-order, Dhoni racked up over 10,000 runs in ODI cricket and that in itself speaks volumes about his batting pedigree. In 2005, Dhoni slammed a mammoth 183* against Sri Lanka in a one-dayer and it remains etched in the minds of the people who witnessed the innings. On the contrary, Rizwan's highest individual score in ODIs is 115 so far. Rizwan will require a really special outing on the field to even get closer to Dhoni's score and will have to play right through the course of the innings. Dhoni's record still stands and Rizwan will have to play out of his skin to break it. 1. He is yet to achieve this feat and it will be difficult for him to do so.
