Asia Cup 2022: 3 Tactical changes India need to make ahead of the next game against Sri Lanka
India will lock horns with Sri Lanka on Tuesday (September 6).
2. Dinesh Karthik in for Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant was picked ahead of Dinesh Karthik in the game against the Men in Green but the 24-year-old failed to impress. Pant scored 14 runs off 12 balls and was not able to find his groove.
India sent in the southpaw to take down the Pakistan spinners but Pant himself became a victim of one of them. The wicketkeeper-batter has not been able to find his footing in the T20I circuit as of yet. Given his struggles in the shortest format, Karthik should replace the Delhi batter for the game against Sri Lanka.
Moreover, with a designated finisher like Karthik in the mix, India could push Hardik Pandya at No.5. Also, if India needs a left-hander in the middle order, Axar could very well be used as a floater when there is a favourable match-up.
