1. Axar Patel in place of Shahbaz Ahmed

Shahbaz Ahmed was included in the playing XI in the first ODI match as the Men in Blue had to leave out Axar Patel. It is understood that Axar got hit in the chest while batting in the nets ahead of the first ODI and therefore was left out as a precautionary measure.

However, assuming he is available for selection for the 2nd ODI, India would look to include him in the playing XI to add more depth and experience to the line-up. Dropping Shahbaz might seem unfair but as we know that team selection is all about balance and not about justice.

Shahbaz was not too effective for the side with the bat as he was dismissed for a duck after facing four deliveries but tried to make up for it with the ball and gave 39 runs in his nine overs.
