4. Josh Lalor for Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers (2018-19)

In the 2018-19 season, BBL saw its fourth hat-trick which took place in the contest between Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers. Bowling first after winning the toss, Heat got a spectacular start from their bowlers.

The Afghan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman with his lethal bowling didn’t give Shaun Marsh (two runs) and Ashton Turner (two runs) time to settle at the crease. While Matthew Kuhnemann also chipped in by snaring the wicket of Josh Inglis.

After losing early wickets, Scorchers didn’t get time to rebuild their innings due to disciplined bowling from the Heat bowlers. But with Cameron Bancroft’s 32 off 24 balls and an important stand between Nick Hobson and Clint Hinchliffe, Scorchers crossed the 100-run mark.

Cognizant of the fact that the opponents were under immense pressure, the pacer Josh Lalor struck hard and scalped the wicket of Andrew Tye on the last delivery of the 18th over. In the last over, the experienced bowler returned and dismissed Matthew Kelly and Nick Hobson to become the third bowler to clinch a hat-trick in the league. Riding on Lalor’s powerful spell, Brisbane thumped Perth by six wickets.
