There have been only nine instances when bowlers have claimed a hat-trick in the Big Bash League since its inception.
5. Rashid Khan for Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers (2019-20)
Rashid Khan is a renowned name in international cricket due to his talent and capability as a spin bowler. For Afghanistan, he has won many matches with his magical spells. In the BBL too, he is one of the important figures for Adelaide Strikers. The Afghan spinner carries the reputation of being a lethal bowler who has a knack of troubling batters.
Back in the 2019-20 edition of the T20 league, Khan showcased his bowling skills at the Adelaide Oval, in the 27th match between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers. He wreaked havoc by picking up four wickets. Helping his team defend a low total of 135, Rashid with his determination made the game intriguing.
The star bowler also notched up a hat-trick by removing James Vince, Jack Edwards, and Jordan Silk. However, Sixers won the game with two wickets in hands and eight balls remaining, but Rashid with his spell showed what he is capable of doing with the ball on his day.
