There are certain players who have taken the T20I circuit by storm with their jaw-dropping performances in this calendar year.
9. Sam Curran
Sam Curran has been a prominent figure in the T20 circuit. Be it in the international arena or the T20 leagues, he has made a mark with his all-round performances. The Northampton-born has played 145 games in the shortest format and bagged 149 wickets at an economy of 8.43. On the batting front, he has smashed 1731 runs at a strike rate of 135.65.
Curran has improved as a bowler with each passing game and has become an integral part of England’s T20 set-up. The ace all-rounder played 19 T20Is this year and bagged 25 wickets at an economy of 7.56, which is brilliant considering he bowls a lot at the fag end of the innings.
The left-arm pacer wreaked havoc with the ball in the T20 World Cup 2022, picking up 13 wickets in matches at an economy of 6.52. Curran was magnificent in the final showdown against Pakistan and took three wickets while giving away only 12 runs in four overs. The England all-rounder was adjudged the Player of the Match in the finals for his stellar performance and was also awarded the Player of the Tournament for his consistent bowling displays throughout the T20 extravaganza.
