4. Steve Smith

Steve Smith is considered to be one of the best batters in the Test format, justified by his excellent quality of services provided to the Australian team for years. He is active in Test cricket since 2010 and has played 94 games for Australia so far. In his 13 years of Test career, he has notched up 8,718 runs with 30 centuries and 37 fifties in 166 innings.

In 2022, the veteran hoarded 876 runs in 18 innings of 11 Tests at a mind-boggling average of 58.40. In the same year, he also added a couple of tons and five half-centuries to his illustrated profile. During Australia’s tour of Pakistan, the Aussie batter exuded confidence using his immense experience and became the second-leading run-scorer for his team with 226 runs in four innings of three matches.

After the Pakistan series, the 33-year-old also ended up becoming the leading run-getter for his team in Sri Lanka. On Indian surfaces, Smith showcased his batting talent during Australia’s tour of India in 2017, scoring two centuries in Pune and Ranchi, respectively.
