Alex Carey will play his second World Cup of his one-day career. As a batter, his responsibility will be to strengthen Australia in the lower middle order. Along with batting, his keeping skills will also be important in the tournament. Carey has justified his role as a wicketkeeper in his five-year ODI career.

The 32-year-old has dismissed 90 batters in 70 ODI innings so far. In the 2019 World Cup, he looked sensational behind the stumps, ending up as the second-most successful wicketkeeper in the competition with 20 dismissals (18 catches and two stumpings) in 10 matches. Cricket fans have witnessed several times Carey displaying his dexterity with his keeping gloves.

The Aussie side is carrying another wicketkeeper Josh Inglis but the five-time champions will bank on Carey as the lanky Aussie is superior to Inglis in terms of experience. Carey has also played a lot of cricket in India which makes him familiar with conditions as well.
