IND vs SL 2023: Three Indian players to watch out for in ODI series
India are all set to lock horns with Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, starting January 10.
2. Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal has been a proven performer for India in the white-ball circuit. He has featured in 70 ODIs and bagged 118 wickets at an economy of 5.25. Coming to the shortest format, the veteran spinner has played 74 T20Is and taken 90 wickets at an economy of 8.18.
Chahal has been India’s strike force with the ball in the middle phases of the innings. But the ace spinner has not been at his best in the recent past. In the white-ball series against New Zealand, he could manage just two wickets and was also not able to stem the flow of runs.
Even in the recently concluded T20I series against Sri Lanka, Chahal could take only three scalps in as many games, conceding runs at an economy of 9.55. The leg-spinner would want to redeem himself in the ODI series and if not, his place in the side could be in jeopardy.
