There have also been multiple instances of the same opposition playing India on more than one occasion or event - regardless of the format. The growing magnitude of fixtures means cricketers in the side getting more opportunities against the same opposition.

Talent in India is diverse and can be easily nurtured, provided adequate resources are provided. There are countless Indian cricketers whose careers have spanned over a long period, mainly due to their consistency in terms of delivering via performances, coupled with their hunger to grow and provide their all during crunch situations. More often than not, the aforementioned cricketers who have played for the nation for years and years do tend to play the same opposition a multiple number of times, and have slowly but surely done well with time.

Over an illustrious international career which spanned a grand 24 years, Australia has been a familiar foe for Sachin Tendulkar. The Master Blaster has faced the menacing likes of the Australian pace attack across the wide expanse of time, more often than not, coming out on top. In the 39 Tests, Sachin has played against the Aussies, he has averaged an impressive 55; comprising 11 hundreds and 16 fifties.

Sachin might not have played Australia the most number of times in ODIs (71 matches), but he surely enjoyed the most success against the Men in Yellow in terms of the number of tons as well as the boundary count. The luminary scored nine centuries against one of the most powerful entities in 50-over cricket during his time, in addition to a total of 365 boundaries (330 fours, 35 sixes).
