8. Zaheer Khan

Before the 2011 World Cup, India were expecting Zaheer Khan to lead their bowling attack from the front to win the title. The talented left-arm pacer didn’t disappoint the team management as he picked 21 wickets in nine matches at an economy of 4.83. With these impressive bowling numbers, he also became the joint-leading wicket-taker in the competition along with Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi.
In the massive final match triumph against Sri Lanka, Zaheer helped India to contain Sri Lanka at a score of 274/6 with his wicket-taking spell of 10-3-60-2. In October 2015, he bid adieu to international cricket after not getting a spot in the national team for more than one and a half years.
Since 2018, he has been associated with the IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians, as their Director of Cricket Operations. Last year, the franchise elevated his position handing him the role of Global Head of Cricket Development. In international cricket, the former speedster is also a commentator and expert.
