IPL: 10 most memorable moments in history
These stunning incidents are etched in the hearts and minds of ardent IPL supporters.
4. Sohail Tanvir’s 6/14 vs Chennai Super Kings (2008)
In the inaugural IPL season, Rajasthan Royals went on to win the title due to the amazing collective efforts of their young stalwarts. With the bat, Shane Watson and Yusuf Pathan reinforced the team; on the other side, Sohail Tanvir supported his captain Shane Warne with the ball to make RR a brutal force for their rivals.
With 22 wickets in 11 matches at an economy of 6.46, he became the first Purple Cap winner. In a game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Tanvir brought joy to RR fans with his extraordinary bowling effort. The left-arm pacer took 6/14 figures and powered his team to grab an eight-wicket victory.
From the first delivery of the match, Tanvir dominated MS Dhoni and Co. In his first over, the speedster dismissed openers Parthiv Patel and Stephen Fleming to strengthen his team. During his four-over spell, he looked formidable and bowled havoc-wreaking deliveries to ruin the CSK batting attack.
