3. Sai Sudharsan
Coming through the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) and doing well in the domestic tournaments, Sai Sudharsan has established himself as the number three batter for his state side. In the limited opportunities that he has got up till now, he has performed his best. Ahead of IPL 2022, he was picked up by Gujarat Titans.
Sudharsan has scored 321 runs in ten IPL games thus far, including three fifties and a strike rate of 125.39. He has aggregated all his runs at an average of 40.12.
He is technically sound and a workhorse for long races. This season, he is performing consistently; he has already bettered his run tally. His strike rate might be an issue going forward in T20s unless there's a change in India's template. But going forward he can make a case for selection in the 50-over side.
After the 2023 World Cup, one can draft him into the side if he keeps churning out the runs at an impressive rate. He is a top-order batter, who can bowl part-time leg spin. If he can develop that side of his game, he will be equivalent to gold dust.
