Punjab Kings assembled a power-packed squad at the 2022 mega auction, consisting of many match-winners of the T20 circuit. They had the goods to go all the way but failed to string successive wins under their belt and ended the league stage in the sixth position. However, in a rather disappointing campaign, one of the positives for the Punjab side was their aggressive batting approach. PBKS adopted a fearless style of cricket and empowered batters to go all guns blazing right from the get-go. 

The team management seems to have completely bought into the strategy and this is evident from the appointment of Trevor Bayliss as their new head coach. The Goulburn-born played a crucial role in the white-ball revolution in England. Under his guidance, the Three Lions changed the way how limited-overs cricket was played and went on to win the 2019 World Cup.

Thus, with Bayliss at Punjab’s helm, they are likely to stick with the same batting approach, and in an attempt to do so rope in some courageous stroke makers in the team. PBKS might have an eye on Brook, who has the ability to take down bowling attacks right from ball one. Hence, Shikhar Dhawan & co. might raise their paddle for the England batter at the forthcoming auction.
