IPL 2023: 5 Oldest Players in the auction
None of the five mentioned players played a match in the last edition of the tournament.
1. Amit Mishra
Born on November 24, 1982, Amit Mishra will be the oldest player to go under the hammer on December 23 at Kochi. The veteran leg-spinner is the third-highest leading wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League and thus, franchises may show interest in getting him on board.
In 244 T20 matches he played so far in his career, the 40-year-old has picked up 272 wickets at an economy of 7.14. Now, given his record and impact on spin-friendly tracks, Mishra can be in demand in the auction room.
However, the player went unsold in the 2022 edition because of his fitness. Mishra kept himself engaged by playing in domestic tournaments after going unsold. He recently featured for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and given his performance, the 40-year-old can be a decent backup spinner for any team in the Indian Premier League.
