IPL 2023: 5 Players Delhi Capitals might release ahead of auction
Delhi Capitals lost their final group stage game to Mumbai Indians and missed out on a playoff spot in IPL 2022.
2. Tim Seifert
Tim Seifert has been a proven performer in the T20 circuit. He has made 159 appearances in the shortest format and amassed 3143 runs at a strike rate of 125.56. The wicketkeeper batter has shown that he can take the best of bowling attacks to the cleaners and the Delhi franchise drafted him into the side for the 2022 season.
David Warner was unavailable for the initial few games of the season and it presented the Kiwi batter with an opportunity to show his prowess. However, Seifert failed to make the chances count and could only score 24 runs in two outings at a strike rate of 126.32. With Warner back in the mix, the 27-year-old was dropped from the side and not picked again.
Seifert has been far from his best of late. In the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League 2022, he scored 221 runs in ten games for Trinbago Knight Riders but it came at a poor strike rate of 93.24. DC might part ways with the out-of-form batter and look for a better option at the mini auction.
