IPL 2023: 5 Players Rajasthan Royals might release ahead of upcoming mini-auction
Rajasthan Royals were the runners-up in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League
2. Nathan Coulter-Nile
Nathan Coulter-Nile is an experienced customer in the shortest format of the game. He has featured in 146 T20 games and done a phenomenal job picking 170 wickets at an economy of 7.78. Talking about IPL in particular, the 35-year-old has been a part of 39 games and bagged 48 wickets. Besides his bowling prowess, he is a useful contributor with the bat lower down the order.
The Australian all-rounder can bring balance to any side and this is the reason why RR added him to their side for the 15th season of the IPL. Coulter-Nile played Rajasthan’s first game of the season but it did not go well as he conceded 48 runs in three overs. Unfortunately, it turned out to be his last game of the season as he was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.
In his IPL journey which started in 2013, Coulter-Nile has been rocked by injuries time and time again. Be it in the 2014 season when he missed the majority of the season due to a hamstring injury or last year when his stint with the Mumbai Indians was cut short due to a calf injury.
RR might not want to reinvest in a player who is not certain to be available for the entire season and thus Coulter-Nile’s exit from the Rajasthan camp looks quite likely.
