3. Suyash Sharma (Kolkata Knight Riders)
There is one thing that makes KKR a special team, and that’s the tendency to find hidden gems in the domestic circuit. In the ongoing season, it is Suyash Sharma, a 19-year-old wrist spinner from Delhi, who has managed to grab the attention of the fans. Sharma is now one of the most lethal spinners in the current edition.
After being picked up for INR 20 lakhs, Sharma was on fire during his debut match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He picked up three wickets for 30 runs. His efforts helped the Knight Riders to win the match by 81 runs. Even after being a leg-spinner, he has been able to maintain a low economy rate of 8.29, which is impressive in any condition.
Recently, his captain Nitish Rana lauded him for his efforts towards the team’s success. Adding on, his wicket tally of nine in seven games has enabled him to become one of the newest sensations in the Indian cricketing circuit. With the tournament approaching its middle phase, it will be interesting to see how Sharma pans out this edition of the IPL.
