IPL 2023: 5 teams that might target Daniel Sams at auction
Daniel Sams is an asset to any side due to his all-round prowess and many franchises could raise their paddles to sign him at the upcoming auction.
2. Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore have backed the majority of their players to come good in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League. Faf du Plessis & co. have moved past only five players, which includes Jason Behrendorff who has been traded to Mumbai Indians.
Bangalore’s current squad does seem fairly balanced but in their current crop of players, Bangalore does not have many death-bowling options. Also, Harshal Patel, who is the team’s premier death bowler, is struggling to find his mojo in the international circuit. He has played seven T20Is after returning from a rib injury and managed to take just four scalps, giving away runs at an economy of 10.43.
Moreover, Bangalore’s other gun bowler Josh Hazlewood has been struggling with side injuries. Thus, it is not certain if he will be at his best in the upcoming season of the cash-rich league. Thus, RCB would need quality pacers who could deliver the goods at the slog overs and someone like Sams could be a great choice. The left-arm pacer has many variations up his sleeve and batters have found him tough to tackle at the fag end of the innings. Hence, Bangalore might try to sign the Australian pacer at the auction.
