IPL 2023: Best Starting Playing XI of Gujarat Titans after mini-auction
Hardik Pandya-led side added some experienced and in-form players at the mini-auction to defend the title in the next edition.
2. Wriddhiman Saha
Witnessing Matthew Wade’s failure as an opener, the franchise gave chances to Wriddhiman Saha to deliver fine starts with Shubman Gill. Grabbing the opportunity with both hands, the veteran scored 317 runs in 11 matches, at a strike rate of 122.39. He also smashed three half-centuries, of which two came in winning causes.
His best innings of the season came against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The wicketkeeper-batter notched up 68 runs off 38 balls with 11 fours and a maximum. With the help of his explosive knock, his team also registered a five-wicket victory in the thrilling contest.
Later against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) too, he showcased his skills to take his team home by seven wickets with his 67-run innings. Noting his last edition's performances, GT retained him the last month and in 2023, they will rely on his experience again to win games.
