IPL 2023: Complete list of injured players and their replacements
These players are important for their respective franchises and their unavailability might dent their teams' chances to win the title this year.
8. Will Jacks
The explosive top-order England batter Will Jacks got sold to RCB for INR 3.2 crore. Going through his hard-hitting ability with the bat in The Hundred competition, the franchise didn’t hesitate to spend the hefty amount to fetch him. In the English domestic cricket circle, he is known for his explosive 25-ball century for Surrey against Lancashire in 2019.
In 2022, the 24-year-old proved his aggressive batting skills again in The Hundred Competition. Notching up 108 runs in just 48 deliveries for Oval Invincibles against Southern Brave, he won the game for his side and became popular in the international circuit. Relying on his incredible track record, he became one of the favourites for RCB at the mini-auction.
However, Jacks won’t be part of his IPL team’s 2023 campaign after getting ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. While serving his national team England in the second ODI against Bangladesh, he picked up a muscle injury. Following Jacks’s unavailability in the T20 extravaganza, the franchise signed New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell as his replacement.
