IPL 2023: Complete list of injured players and their replacements
These players are important for their respective franchises and their unavailability might dent their teams' chances to win the title this year.
6. Prasidh Krishna
In the previous IPL edition, Rajasthan Royals (RR) ended up as the runners-up, following their seven-wicket loss at the hands of Gujarat Titans (GT), in the final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Their players Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal also hit headlines by winning the Orange Cap and Purple Cap respectively, thanks to their extraordinary performances. However, one more player who proved his loyalty to RR in the competition was Prasidh Krishna, who emerged as a wicket-taking bowler.
Recently, the franchise faced a huge blow when the news of Krishna's exclusion from the IPL 2023 broke out. The young pacer is bound to skip the tournament due to a lumber stress fracture in his spine, which he got in 2022. The absence of the 27-year-old will be felt by RR as he vitalises the pace department with his disciplined fast bowling.
In 2022, Krishna was the most impactful pacer for the franchise, clinching 19 wickets in 17 matches at an economy of 8.28. Now, team management has managed to get an influential name to replace the injured pacer after they announced the arrival of veteran Indian pacer Sandeep Sharma ahead of the 16th edition of the tournament.
